GOLDEN FRIED APPLE RINGS 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. funnel cake mix
3 med. tart firm apples
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sugar
Shortening or cooking oil

Prepare funnel cake mix according to package directions. Core apples. Slice about 1/4 thick. Dip in funnel cake batter to coat, letting excess batter drip off. Deep fry for 2-4 minutes or until golden. Drain on paper towels. Combine the brown sugar and sugar. Sprinkle over hot apple rings. Serve warm. Makes about 24 rings.
