RAISIN SWEET BREAD
2 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 c. hot milk
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
5 c. flour
1 c. raisins

Heat milk. Add shortening, sugar and salt. Stir until sugar is dissolved. When lukewarm, add yeast, mixed with warm water and eggs. Put all into large bowl and beat in 2 cups flour until smooth. Stir in remaining flour, a cup at a time, to make a soft dough. Add raisins.

On floured surface, knead until smooth and shiny, 8 to 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise until doubled. Divide into 2 loaf pans (greased). Let rise again and bake at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
