VANILLA CARAMELS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. canned milk
2 tbsp. flour
1/3 c. dark Karo syrup
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1/2 c. cookie crumbs, vanilla wafers

Blend sugar and flour, add milk slowly. Add butter and Karo. Cook in heavy pan until it forms hard ball in cold water. Remove from heat. Cool a little, add vanilla and nuts and crumbs. Beat a little. Pour into buttered pan. When cool, cut in squares.
