CUBE STEAK CASSEROLE 
3 or 4 pieces of cube steak
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 or 3 carrots, sliced
3 med. potatoes, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 stick butter
Salt & pepper to taste

In large Pyrex dish, layer steak on bottom. Place potatoes, carrots & onions on top of steaks. Salt and pepper. Heat soup with butter and pour over the steak dish. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. (Brown steak in small amount of vegetable oil before placing in dish.)

My wife & I loved this recipe, great all-in-one meal with lots of flavor. I used less butter (3 tbsps) & 2 cans of the mushroom soup and baked in stoneware rather than Pyrex.

Good recipe. Because I have some who don't like onions, in this recipe I normally omit sliced onions. But for the onion taste, I sprinkle onion powder into the soup mixture and haven't heard complaints. I can't say this change improves the recipe, but if you have those who oppose onion as I do, this is a good alternative.
