DILL PICKLES 
3 qts. water
1 qt. vinegar
1 head of dill
1 clove of garlic
1 c. salt
1 tsp. alum
1 sm. onion

Put garlic, dill and onion in the bottom of pickles. Bring brine to a boil. Pour over pickles. Add alum and seal.
