GRANDMA'S GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening (Crisco) or butter*
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon

*Cookies baked with butter will be soft and chewy; cookies baked with Crisco will be crunchier.

Cream shortening/butter and sugar. Add eggs and molasses. Combine flour, soda, and spices; add to creamed ingredients. Shape cookies into balls. Roll in sugar.

Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes or until cookie bottoms are browned.
