HOT FRUIT SALAD
1 jar applesauce
1 can sliced peaches
1 can sliced pears
1 can mandarin orange slices
1 can pineapple chunks
1 can cherry pie filling
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Chopped nuts

Drain peaches, pears, oranges, and pineapple. In a 9 x 13 inch pan, pour applesauce in a layer. Put peaches on top for second layer, pears on top for third layer, mandarin oranges next, then pineapple chunks. Pour cherry pie filling top of all this. Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts. Pour this crunchy topping on top of all the layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Goes great with ham.

The Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism class at the school where I work made this, and it was WONDERFUL. They told me they found the recipe on cooks.com... So I came searching. This was wonderful tonight at the early Christmas gathering I attended. The host served Honey Baked ham, and this was the perfect compliment.

The others in attendance at the dinner agree with me that slight variations could be made if one did not like pineapple, for example. That could be swapped for an extra can of orange slices. The pears could be traded for apricots. This could be a little different each time it is served. Personally, however, i would not change a thing.
