1 qt. milk, heated
1/2 tsp. salt
Vanilla to taste
4 round tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs

In double boiler heat milk, salt and vanilla. Mix flour and sugar together and add some of the warm milk mixture to it. Pour into milk in double boiler. Beat 4 eggs well with small amount of warm milk; add to double boiler mixture. Cook until thickened. Makes 2 pies, use this base for numerous flavors such as bananas, coconut, and chocolate (add bit of sugar).
