SPICED CANTALOUPE 
1 qt. cantaloupe
1 lb. white sugar
1 pt. vinegar
1 cinnamon stick

Cut cantaloupe into strips about 1 inch wide and peel off outside. Cover in strong salt water and let stand overnight. Drain, wash well. Cook in plain water until soft; drain; put in syrup made of vinegar, sugar and cinnamon. Boil until transparent. Put in 1/2 pint jars and seal.
