1 14 oz pkg. caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 box german chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. butter, softened 1 c. nuts, pecans 12 oz semisweet chocolate pieces Combine caramels and 1/3 c. evaporated milk on top of double boiler. Stir mixture until melted. Stir in nuts. Press one half of cake mixture in a greased 13x9 pan and bake for 6 min. at 350°F. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate pieces on top. Pour melted caramel evenly over top. Crumble remaining mix over caramel and bake for 15 to 20 min. Cool slightly and cut into bars. Serve. |
