SOUTHERN TEA CAKES 
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3 c. self rising flour

In a mixing bowl, cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir in flour; mix well. Drop by tablespoonful 2 1/2" apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: about 3 dozen.
