HEART-HEALTHY WAFFLES (Pancakes) 
1 1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 - 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. cooking oil
1 whole egg
2 tbsp. molasses
3 beaten egg whites, quite stiff

Heat the milk and stir in the quick oats. Let stand 5 minutes. Add the dry ingredients - flour, spices, baking powder, soda and the molasses and cooking oil. Lastly add 3 beaten eggs, quite stiff. Serve with sliced bananas, orange marmalade or applesauce.
