TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla

Combine first 5 ingredients in mixing bowl and stir. Bring to a boil butter, cocoa and water; mix eggs and buttermilk with fork until smooth; add vanilla. Add hot mixture to dry ingredients and mix well. Add buttermilk mixture and blend well again. Grease an oblong cake pan and preheat oven 350 degrees. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. nuts, optional
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix first 3 ingredients and cook until boiling. Remove from heat and add sugar, nuts and vanilla; mix well and put on cake while icing is hot.
