SMOTHERED PORK CHOPS 
pork chops
pepper
salt
flour
oil
1/3 medium onion, diced
water

Season chops with salt and pepper. Roll in flour. Fry slowly in oil until brown. Remove from pan.

Pour off excess oil leaving a little to make gravy. Fry onion in remaining oil until wilted. Pour boiling water into onion. Add chops to onion and water. Cover and simmer until tender.
