FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
2 or 3 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/2 c. flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying

Roll green tomato slices in flour. Salt and pepper and fry on both sides in oil until brown on both sides. Serve immediately.

The fried tomatoes will be even better if you dip them in beaten egg and then in flour before frying. And make sure grease is hot before puting slices in to fry.

For a taste you will NOT believe - and will ALWAYS do after, follow Mary's advice - about dipping in beaten egg first... BUT.. sprinkle each side with "Lemon Pepper" prior to frying... fried green tomatoes have a delicate flavor - but by adding the lemon pepper - it actually enhances the flavor at least twice... absolutely excellent!
