CINNAMON BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. unbleached flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening, sugar and then add eggs with vanilla and beat well. Add alternately the buttermilk and dry ingredients (flour, soda, baking powder and salt mixed). Spoon 1/2 of batter in loaf pan. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle 1/2 of mixture on the batter in the pan. Take knife and swirl the mixture through the batter. Add remaining batter and swirl the rest of the cinnamon sugar through it. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
