RAISIN TOP SUGAR COOKIES 
Cream together:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs

Sift and measure:

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Sift again with:

1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Blend into creamed mixture adding a tablespoon of milk if dough is very thick. Flavor to taste with vanilla, grated lemon rind, or almond extract.

Chill dough for easier handling. Then roll about 1/8 inch thick and cut with floured cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Decorate tops with raisins pressing them lightly into the dough. Bake in moderately hot oven until edges are brown.
