CLEAR LEMON SAUCE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. butter
3 to 4 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. grated lemon rind

Mix sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan; add boiling water and bring mixture to boiling, stirring. Cook one minute. Remove from heat and add juice and rind. Serve over puddings.
