CALICO BEAN POT | |
1/2 lb. bacon 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. catsup 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. prepared mustard 2 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 (16 oz.) can pork and beans 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans 1 (16 oz.) can lima beans, drained Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut bacon slices into pieces and fry in a large skillet over moderate heat until crisp. Remove bacon, drain and reserve 2 tablespoons fat in skillet. Add onion and beef to skillet; saute until onion is tender and beef is brown. Add bacon, catsup, sugar, mustard, vinegar and salt to beef mixture, stirring until ingredients are combined. Fold in pork and beans, kidney beans and lima beans. Place in a deep baking dish and bake 30 minutes. |
