CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE WITH BUTTER SAUCE | |
3 c. cake flour (sifted) 1/4 tsp. salt 3 sticks butter 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese 3 c. sugar 6 lg. eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. baking powder Remember: Do not preheat oven and save 2 tablespoons cake batter for butter sauce. Cream butter and cheese well. Add sugar, eggs, flour (mixed with salt and baking powder). Alternate between each. Beat with electric mixer 4 minutes between each addition. Add vanilla last. Pour into pound cake pan sprayed with Bakers Joy. Put in cold oven, 325 degrees, 1 1/2 hours. Serve with butter sauce. BUTTER SAUCE: 1 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg yolk 2 tbsp. milk 2 tbsp. cake batter |
