BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
Clean and slice 8 quarts cucumbers. Put in a brine cucumbers and salt, let stand overnight. Drain and run water quickly over them so not to loose complete salt taste.

1 1/2 qt. vinegar
7 c. sugar
2 tbsp. celery seed
4 tbsp. mustard seed
2 tsp. turmeric
5 sliced onions
5 green or red peppers (I used red to give color in jars)

Bring all above ingredients together in vinegar to a good boil and put in hot jars and seal.

You will have juice left over, so seal in jars and use on salads in place of store mixtures.
