COCONUT POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
4 c. flour, sifted
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 sm. can angel flake coconut

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition. Add flour and milk alternately. Add flavoring and coconut. Pour in greased and floured loaf pans. IMPORTANT: Place in cold oven. Set oven at 275 degrees and bake 1 hour 15 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
