CHOCOLATE CRACKLES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
4 eggs
4 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt.)

Cream sugar and oil. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking powder, salt. Dough will be rather thin. Cover and chill overnight. Roll into balls the size of a walnut, then drop into powdered sugar. Place about 2" apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. The powder sugar coating will crack during baking. Makes 6 dozen.
