OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Let stand 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter. Stir. Add eggs. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cocoa. Add flour mix to sugar mix. Add half of chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle remaining chips and nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes until wooden pick comes clean.
