1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick Quaker oats
1 c. sugar
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Mix quick oatmeal with boiling water. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in sugars and butter. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, and cocoa. Add to the rest of mixture. Stir in chocolate chips (1/2) of 12 ounce size. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread remainder of chocolate chips and nuts on top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Can put Cool Whip on top but good without anything on it.
