MRS. E.'S BEANS 
2 lb. Navy beans (dry)
2/3 tsp. baking soda
1 c. ketchup
1 1/2 c. brown sugar (not packed)
2 tbsp. mustard
4 tbsp. King's syrup
1 lb. bacon

Soak beans overnight. Cook beans, adding baking soda to water. Drain, keep juice. Fry bacon while beans are cooking. Crumble bacon. Add all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered at least 1 hour. Add juice to moisten as needed.
