BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. of Navy beans
1 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. bacon
Med. sized onion
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 to 1 c. brown sugar

Cover beans with cold water and cook. Boil 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, stir (or it will boil over). Cook for 15 more minutes. Then pour off water and rinse in cold water. Put beans back in pot and cover with cold water.

Add 1/2 pound bacon (chopped up), a good sized onion (chopped) and dry mustard (1 teaspoon). Let cook until tender. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar (or more). Stir and see how they taste. Put in a baking dish and cover with remaining bacon. Cook about 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Add water, if needed.
