SOFT RAISIN OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
Nuts, if desired

Boil raisins in water 10 minutes. Drain and cool. Save 5 tablespoons of juice. Mix sugar and butter. Add beaten eggs. Sift flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Add alternately with raisin juice to butter mixture. Stir in oatmeal, then fold in boiled raisins. Drop by spoonfuls on greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
