SOFT OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. chopped raisins

Cream 1/3 cup shortening. Add 1/2 cup sugar and cream well. Beat in 1 egg. Stir in 3/4 cup rolled oats. Combine 3 tablespoons milk and 1 tablespoon white vinegar in small cup. Add 1/2 of the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, beat well. Add milk mixture to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add remainder of flour, cream well. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets by rounded teaspoonfuls. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
