PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. Crisco

Sift flour once and measure into large mixing bowl. Add soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add buttermilk and hot water. Add flour mixture slowly to other ingredients, mixing well. Add peanut butter. Mix thoroughly. Pour into lightly greased and floured 13x11x2 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake completely before frosting.

PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING:

3 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. peanut butter

Pour enough evaporated milk into mixture until smooth and creamy. Pour and spread over cake.
