ITALIAN CREME CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 2 c. sugar 5 egg yolks 2 c. flour 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans 1 c. coconut 5 egg whites Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Add flour and butter (flour first). Stir in nuts and coconut. Fold in egg whites. Bake in three (9 inch) cake pans at 350 degrees for 2 minutes. ICING: 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese 1/2 c. Crisco or 12 stick butter 1 box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. nuts Cream cheese and butter. Add sugar, vanilla and nuts. Spread on cool cake. |
