MOTHER'S FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. candied pineapple
4 c. pecans, chopped
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. vanilla flavoring
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Mix butter and sugar together. Then add beaten eggs, and blend in flour. Add flavoring. Then fold in nuts and fruits. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Cook 2 1/2 hours at 250 degrees.
