BASIC GRANOLA 
4 c. reg. rolled oats
1 c. shredded coconut
3/4 c. reg. wheat germ
3/4 c. chopped or sliced almonds
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. instant nonfat dry milk
1/3 c. honey
1/4 c. vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a large (16x11x2, or similar) baking pan with shortening; set aside.

Combine the first six ingredients in bowl; mix well.

In a small saucepan, blend honey and oil; heat gently to dissolve honey. Pour mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring well to thoroughly coat. Spread the mixture evenly over the baking pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. As it bakes, stir with a spatula every 5 minutes. Cool well and store at room temperature in an airtight container.
