LEMON SQUARES 
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar (10X)
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Blend above ingredients in a bowl until it resembles crumbs. Pat into a 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

TOPPING:

Combine in a bowl 4 eggs beaten until light lemon color and then add 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 6 tablespoons lemon juice and beat for 8 minutes. Sift in 4 tablespoons flour and 1 tablespoon baking powder and mix well until foamy.

Pour mixture over baked layer and place in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares once cooled and sift powdered (10X) sugar over the top to decorate.

Just right for a sweet tooth or an afternoon tea.
