SAUSAGE PINWHEELS | |
2 c. all purpose flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk 1 lb. hot pork sausage Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk, stirring until well blended. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Roll dough into an 18"x12" rectangle. Spread sausage, at room temperature, over dough, leaving 1/2" margin on all sides. Carefully roll dough up jelly roll fashion. Seal ends. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Slice in 1/4" slices. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. |
