RUSSIAN ROLL 
2 tbsp. gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
2 c. milk, scalded
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten until thick & lemon colored
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. heavy cream, whipped
Pecans, cut lengthwise in thin slices
Maraschino cherries, diced
Angel Food cake, baked in a loaf pan

Dissolve gelatin in water. Add milk, salt and sugar. Pour mixture on egg yolk stirring constantly. Cook in double boiler 10 minutes. Remove from fire and cool. When mixture is slightly thickened, add vanilla and fold in cream. Allow to stiffen. Split Angel Food cake in half lengthwise. Spread filling between layers and top and sides. Cover with pecans and cherries.
