SOUR CREAM APPLE SQUARE 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, softened
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. sour cream
1-2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. peeled and finely chopped apples

In large bowl, combine first three ingredients; blend until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Press 2-3/4 cups crumb mixture into ungreased 9x13-inch pan. To remaining mixture, add cinnamon, baking soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla, egg and apples. Spread over the pressed crumb mixture into pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350°F.
