SUGAR NUTS | |
4 c. pecans or walnut halves (about 1 lb.) 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. cinnamon Spread nuts in single layer in jelly roll pan. Bake in heated oven 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly toasted. Boil sugar and water. Simmer uncovered until soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Stir in cinnamon, then toasted nuts to coat well. Turn out on waxed paper and separate. Cool completely. Store airtight in cool place. Makes 4 cups. |
