CRUNCHY BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. molasses
1 c. natural bran
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. dates

Mix together the buttermilk and soda; set aside. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add the milk and soda to the butter mixture; then the molasses and bran. Stir in the flour and salt. Then fold in the fruit and nuts. Fill well greased muffin pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
