BUTTER POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 stick butter, softened (I have also used 3 sticks butter)
3 c. sugar
5 lg. eggs, at room temperature
1 c. milk, at room temperature
1 tsp. butter flavoring
3 c. cake flour OR soft wheat flour (like White Lily)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and butter. Add sugar and cream. Add eggs 1 at a time. Alternate milk and flour and add flavorings. Mix with electric mixer 5 to 10 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours. (I also put batter in a 9x13 inch pan and bake about 1 hour).
