MOCK OYSTER DIP 
1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
1 lg. onion
1 stick butter
1 (6 oz.) roll garlic cheese
1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms (stems and pieces), save juice
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Dash hot sauce

Cook broccoli until overdone - about 30 minutes. Saute onions in butter about 15 minutes. Add soup, mushrooms and juice. Break cheese and blend in until melted. Add hot sauce and broccoli, stirring until well mixed. Serve hot (stirring often) with ruffle-style potato chips.;

We have had this dip on Christmas Eve for over thirty years. It has been become a family tradition. I have always used whole button mushrooms instead of stems and pieces. Resembles the oyster better and also allows people who are not crazy about mushrooms to still enjoy! We have always served ours with tortilla chips. If you can not find the Kraft roll of garlic cheese you can use velvet with minced garlic.
