LAYERED CHEESE SQUARES 
1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 lb. butter, softened
1 egg
1/4 tsp. paprika

Place 3 slices of thin-sliced white bread, trim crust and cut into squares, making 4 stacks of three layers. Spread top of each slice; then ice sides and top of stacks with mixture. Place on baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and squares are lightly browned. Makes about 30. Freeze well.

TO FREEZE: First freeze on cookie sheets, then store in freezer bags. For best results, grate cheese fine.
