BAVARIAN BEEF BURGUNDY 
1 lb. beef sirloin, cut into thin strips (or Tenderloin Tips)
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 pkg. Kraft brown gravy mix
1 pkg. Kraft sour cream sauce mix
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. Burgundy wine
1/4 tsp. dill weed

Brown meat in butter. Add mushrooms and onion, cook 5 minutes. Blend in remaining ingredients, stirring until thickened. Serve over noodles.

Any suggestions what I could substitute? Recepie sounds really Great!

This is obviously an older recipe (~1970s) and this product doesn't exist anymore so I looked it up. It was an "instant sour cream" mix that called for 2/3 cup of milk to 1 package yielding 3/4 cup of "sour cream". What I would do is substitute 3/4 cup of tub sour cream for the packet mix and decrease the water by 2/3 cup. Just make sure not to boil sour cream, mix in towards the end and gently heat. I'm sure this instant product was convenient for dishes like this or stroganoff so you didn't have to worry about fresh sour cream separating. Can't wait to try this delicious looking recipe!

Found a recipe for "sour cream sauce" here... under another recipe "Meatballs with Sour Cream Sauce"... am thinking this will work - since it is also a beef recipe... from the way it reads though - would probably add sour cream at the last few minutes - as it suggests to stir it in and simmer until sauce is heated through... am going to continue to search - for any similar sauce that is used with beef - but for now - this sounds like it would work....
