STRAWBERRIES ROMANOFF | |
2 c. to 1 qt. strawberries 1/4 c. sugar 1 c. whipping cream 1/2 pt. vanilla ice cream 1/4 c. cointreau Keep the berries whole, wash them, hull them, sprinkle with sugar and chill. (For some mysterious reason one used the same amount of sugar with different amounts of berries.) Prepare berries at least 3 hours before needed. Just before serving, beat the cream until very stiff. Beat the ice cream until fluffy and fold it into the whipped cream. Add the cointreau, fold in the strawberries, pour into serving bowl and serve immediately. You may reserve immediately. You may reserve some of the berries to float on the top at the last minute. 6 to 8 servings. |
