ARBALY COFFEE CAKE | |
4 c. sifted flour 1/2 lb. butter 1 pkg. yeast 2 c. brown sugar 1 c. rolled graham crackers 2 eggs 4 tbsp. sugar 1 c. lukewarm water 3/4 c. walnuts, chopped 1/2 c. raisins Crumb the flour, butter and yeast together like pie dough. Beat 2 eggs and add 4 tablespoons sugar and 1 cup lukewarm water. Mix well and add to the above mixture and mix. Let stand in refrigerator overnight. Next day, divide dough into two parts and roll each half on floured board into 14"x20" sheet, then spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll like jelly roll and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Makes two loaves. |
