APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
2 c. thinly sliced apples

TOPPING:

1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift dry ingredients, cut in butter. Add egg and milk. Barely mix. Pour into greased 8 inch pan. Lay apples evenly on top. Sprinkle with brown sugar and spices. Drizzle melted butter over top. Bake at 400 degrees.
