CHERRY COCONUT BARS 
PASTRY:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. confectioners' sugar

FILLING:

1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. maraschino cherries

PASTRY: Mix all ingredients and pat into 8-inch square pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

FILLING: Mix all ingredients and spread on pastry; no need to cool. Bake 25 additional minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
