SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE | |
1 c. (2 sticks) butter 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 c. dairy sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda confectioners' sugar Topping: 1 c. nuts, finely chopped 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Beat well, gradually adding flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat until well mixed. Place half the batter in a 9-inch tube pan, greased and lightly floured. Mix together the topping ingredients and sprinkle on batter. Add remaining batter and bake at 375°F for 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean. Sprinkle confectioners' sugar on top while cake is still warm. Makes 10 to 12 servings. Submitted by: Beth Brouillard |
