CALIFORNIA PUMPKIN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. oil
1 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. canned pumpkin
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream together first 3 ingredients. Sift together flour and spices. Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Add pumpkin and walnuts. Pour mixture into lightly greased loaf pan; bake for 1 hour 10 minutes; or pour into 4 small loaf pans and bake about 55 minutes.
