RAISIN SQUARES | |
1 pkg. (16 oz.) seedless raisins 2 c. water 1/3 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. vinegar Triple recipe, pie crust dough Milk, sugar, nutmeg for topping Boil raisins in the water for 5 minutes. Then, add rest of ingredients. Cook until thick. Let cool. Make triple recipe of pie crust. Use half rolled out to cover a cookie sheet. Spread with the Raisin Filling. Cover with other half rolled out pie crust. Pinch edges of dough to seal. Prick the top with a fork, brush with milk and sprinkle on the sugar and nutmeg. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Then, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes more. Cool. Cut into 2 inch squares. |
